Grandparents' Breakfast on September 7 (A-M) & Sept 8 (N-Z)

Grandparents are invited to Grady Elementary for Grandparents' Breakfast. Two breakfasts will be held:
Thursday, September 7th, for grandparents visiting students whose last names begin with the letters A through M - and-
Friday, September 8th, for grandparents visiting students whose last names begin with the letters N through Z.
Breakfast begins at 7:15 am and ends at 8:00 am. The Grandparents' Breakfast will be held in the cafeteria and will feature complimentary pastry, muffins, coffee, and orange juice for grandparents/parents and school breakfast for students.

Grady Chorus

We are trying a new routine with our Grady Chorus this year. Rehearsals for Intermediate (3rd, 4th and 5th grade) Chorus will take place on Mondays from 1:15-2:00pm starting on September 11th. Primary Chorus (1st and 2nd grade) will use songs within their music curriculum and will not need to have an after school rehearsal. Please turn in permission forms by September 11th.

Tiger Talk Update 8.31.17

Grandparents’ Breakfast is coming up on September 7/8th. Two breakfasts will be held:

ASE Club registration is now open for fall clubs. Please click here for additional details. 

Online orders for yearbooks are now available. You can order your yearbook online by going to www.strawbridge.net and using the online code: 112045. 2017 - 2018 yearbooks are $20 for soft cover and $25 for hard cover. Cash orders will only be received in the months of January and February 2018. The deadline to order yearbooks in time for yearbook signing is March 9, 2018.

We are still looking for volunteers to help with the following:

  • After School Club Dismissal - We are looking for volunteers to help with clubs after school dismissal on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:20 to 3:50, volunteers may receive a discount for clubs. Please contact Norma Maiz at [email protected] with any questions.  
  • Yearbook - We need a Yearbook Coordinator, as well as people to take pictures at events and prepare the 5th grade dedication ads. Please contact Norma Maiz with any questions at [email protected].

Please attend the Tampa Bay Food Truck Rally!

Grady PTA supports End 68 Hours of Hunger’s upcoming Tampa Bay Food Truck Rally and Silent Auction.  68 Hours of Hunger provides weekend meals to food insecure children. Right now, they are feeding more than 140 children a week.  Let’s support their good works and enjoy some tasty treats, too!  Thank you for supporting Grady PTA’s friends.

Please join us at the Tampa Bay Food Truck Rally,  Sunday, November 5, from 11 am to 2 pm at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church, 1309 W. Swann Ave., Tampa, FL 33606.  There will be food trucks for all tastes and lots of family fun.  There is no charge to attend, but food donations of the kind listed below are greatly appreciated. 

Food Items to Donate:  Please be sure the food has not expired. No glass please. Please remember that many of the children carry their own food home and bigger is not better!  Thank you!!

Canned chili or soups
Canned pasta
Protein Bars
Cereal or low sugar instant oatmeal
Crackers
Squeezeable Jelly

Moms' Night Out at Kona Grill, September 19, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Please join Grady PTA for a fun-filled Moms' Night Out at Kona Grill -- a prior Tiger Talk message about this mentioned a different place, but the event is at Kona Grill.  This is a great chance to get to know other Grady moms.  Reservations are not necessary, but are appreciated.  Please contact VP of Membership Krista Harvie at [email protected] with questions or to RSVP.  We hope to see you at this great event.

Tiger Talk Update

Hello and welcome back to school! We are looking forward to another incredible year at Grady Elementary!


We want to thank everyone who has already joined the PTA – we really appreciate it! If you haven’t joined, please fill out the form at https://gradytigers.org/membership-form or download the printable form and turn in with payment to your child’s teacher. The PTA is lobbying on behalf of our children and there is strength in numbers.

To volunteer at school, you must complete the background check first: Background Check Application for Volunteers. Click on the word “Apply” on the left side of the page and fill out the forms (you will need your driver's license number). This background check application is separate from any application to volunteer at Grady. When you do volunteer at Grady, make sure you bring your driver’s license and sign into the school’s computer and log your hours. This is for security and it helps our school because Grady can win awards in connection with the number of volunteers and volunteer hours logged by the school.
