As part of our ongoing partnership with TGH/USF Health, we have created an informational video regarding Infection Prevention with COVID-19.
It is vital information that you may have heard before but these are steps we can take to protect ourselves and those around us.
Our local experts in the field of public health and infectious disease joined me, along with Chief of Staff Michael McAuley, to discuss:
- Transmission of and the incubation period for COVID-19
- Impact of COVID-19 on children
- Strategies to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our schools
- What we can expect this fall and winter with flu season and COVID-19

The medical experts from Tampa General Hospital and USF Health, including Dr. Patricia Emmanuel, Chair, Department of Pediatrics and Dr. Claudia Espinoza, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, at USF, and Peggy Thompson, RN, Director of Infection Prevention at TGH, shared their insights as we continue to deal with the challenges of COVID-19 on our community.
