What is Tiger Trek?
Tiger Trek is Grady PTA's biggest Fall Fundraiser where proceeds directly benefit our school and students. The event promotes fitness and encourages our students to collect donations that will greatly help our school.
This year we will be doing things a little differently -- imagine that!! We are partnering with Step It Up from POP to help enhance our Tiger Trek experience. Our Tiger Trek goal is to create healthy habits and raise money for the Grady Elementary PTA.
Tiger Trek’s How & When
From September 13th to September 24th we will be using the Step It Up platform to collect donations. The week of October 7th all students will receive their pedometer to participate in our Tiger Trek walk-a-thon at the Grady Elementary track. In keeping with Grady’s “Going for the Gold” theme, there will be step goals listed for each student to earn a bronze, silver or gold medal based on how many steps they walk or jog during the walk-a-thon. Our goal is for all students to earn a medal for our school. On March 2nd all students will participate in Step It Up’s Day of Awesomeness to celebrate our success.
Are There Student or Class Prizes This Year?
This year, the winners are geared towards participation, donations, and a sense of tiger pride. In each grade level, there will be a class that wins for most gold medals earned and a class that wins for highest donations raised. The class winners for each grade will receive an extra 30 minutes of recess. School-wide, the class with the most donations across all the grade levels will enjoy a treat from Jeremiah’s Italian Ice.
If the average student donation is equal to or more than $60, all students and staff members will receive a tiger trek t-shirt. If this goal isn’t reached, sponsors and students with a minimum donation of $60 will still receive their shirt. There are more cool prizes for individual donations listed on the Step It Up Flyer.
