Grady has again earned an “A” from the Florida Department of Education for the 2014-15 school year.

Grady’s “A” grade was based upon our students’ performance on the Florida Standards Assessment (“FSA”).

Grady ranked 15th for total points earned on the FSA, out of over 140 Hillsborough County elementary schools. Grady tied for 10th highest in the county for Math, tied for 16th highest in the county for Reading and scored 14th in the county for Science.

This is a wonderful achievement for Grady students, teachers, administrators and parents. The students at our school are excelling at the curriculum. Grady Elementary is fulfilling its vision of preparing students for life.

A hearty Congratulations to all of us for making this happen!

Grady Moms, please come to the Grady Mom’s Night Out on next Thursday, February 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, at Carmel Kitchen, located at 3601 Swann Ave. (corner of Himes and Swann).  Our last Mom’s Night Out was a huge success (see pictures here: Mom's Night Out Photos).  Many moms set up playdates, went to the movies and fostered new friendships as a result of this event.  So, please come out and enjoy a nice evening.  There will be $5 drink specials, happy hour specials until 7 pm and $5 sharable plates (calamari and shrimp, multiple types of flatbreads, chickpea fries, and more), so it’s going to be a very economical evening too.  Please reply to this email to RSVP (it is not necessary to RSVP, but it does help us with planning) and click here Mom's Night Out Details to learn more about the event.  We hope to see you there.

Grady’s Box Top Competition ends next Wednesday, February 24, 2016.  Please keep sending in your Box Tops. Tiger Trek raised $10,000 for Grady Elementary!  Coincidentally, that's the same amount that the PTA recently paid toward the school's technology upgrade!  This money is going to be used to fund more technology as well as teacher grants, science supplies, art supplies, and books to enhance the curriculum.  Thank you so much to all of you who sponsored students, volunteered, and served as family sponsors to Tiger Trek.  Tiger Trek Prizes will be distributed on Thursday.  Additional Tiger Trek shirts are still being printed, but anyone who ordered a shirt will be notified as soon as they arrive.

This Friday, February 12, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be sold in the front of the school next to the flag pole.  Doughnuts are $7/dozen or $1 each.  Cash, check or credit card accepted.  Proceeds will benefit the fifth grade end-of-year banquet, so please come by and get some doughnuts for yourself, your children or your office.

Also this Friday, all Kindergartners will be performing in an absolutely adorable Valentine's Concert.  To see more information about the concert, please click here: Kindergarten Valentines Program.  Please remember to bring government-issued identification (driver's license) to check in at the front office before the concert.
