PTA Updates

May 15-19, is Spirit Week and each day has a theme.  Each day’s theme is as follows:  Sports Madness Monday,  Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday Mix & Match Day, Throw Back Thursday, My Future Career Friday.  If you misplaced your end of year events sheet (as I have) you can find another copy here:  End of Year Events.

Next week is the last week of after school clubs.  The last day of each club  is as follows:  Monday clubs end on May 15; Tuesday clubs end on May 16; Wednesday clubs end on May 17 and Thursday clubs end on May 18.  There are no clubs during the final week of school.

Next Friday, May 19, there is one final fifth grade Krispy Kreme doughnut sale from 7:30 am until 8 am, in front of the school.  Doughnuts are $7 per dozen or $1 each.  The fifth grade thanks you for your doughnut purchases over the year.  We are about to spend the money raised by these doughnut sales on the fifth grade banquet and any additional monies will be used for the fifth grade to purchase a gift for the school.

Before we conclude the year, the PTA is in desperate need of the following volunteers for the 2017-18 school year:

(1)    For after school clubs next year, we need a volunteer to help us cover club dismissal only (not attendance and dismissal) from 3:15 pm to 3:45  pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the times that we run clubs.  We will likely run one 6-8 week session of clubs starting in September and concluding in November.  If we can’t find someone to cover dismissal on Tuesdays and Thursdays for this first club period, it will affect our ability to provide after school clubs.  There are incentives for helping us with this program.  If you are interested, please email ASE Coordinator Moni Sears at [email protected] or Club Connection Coordinator Norma Maiz at [email protected].

(2)    For the yearbook, we need a volunteer to work with fifth grade parents to help create and collect fifth grade yearbook advertisements.  Please email Yearbook Coordinator Norma Maiz at [email protected] if you can help.

Thank you to the many people who signed up to received next year’s Tiger Talk emails.  It is very helpful for us to get started on building next year’s email database over the summer.
