Invitation: Half-Penny Promise Virtual Town Hall
Hillsborough County Public Schools invites families, PTA/PTSA leaders, staff, business leaders, and community members to join the final virtual town hall focused on the Half-Penny Promise referendum appearing on the November ballot.
This one-hour session will provide an opportunity to learn more about how Half-Penny funds have been invested across Hillsborough County schools, what projects have already been completed, and what reauthorization would mean for future school facility improvements.
District leaders will share information about major investments in areas such as air-conditioning systems, roofing, safety and security enhancements, and other critical infrastructure needs. Members of the independent Citizen Oversight Committee will also provide perspective on accountability, transparency, and how referendum dollars are monitored.
Since voters first approved the Half-Penny Sales Tax in 2018, more than $1.326 billion has been invested in school improvements across Hillsborough County, including more than $716 million awarded to local businesses.
Whether you are a parent, educator, PTA/PTSA leader, or community member, this is an important opportunity to hear directly from district leadership, better understand the program, and become informed before the November election.
