Club offerings vary each club season depending on scheduling and club vendor availability. 
Below is a sampling of previous club vendors to give you a sense of the types of offerings that may be available during a club season.

Cooking Club

We are a hands-on cooking class where we use creativity to make fun delicious menu items. From fresh pasta to cupcake decorating kids will have a blast all while learning!  We will teach kids basic cooking skills and techniques such as chopping, mixing, measuring, muddling, rolling through the preparation & assembling of fun foods and drinks all while entertaining!  We will also be teaching kids food safety, knife safety and allergy awareness.  These are all life skills that they are learning and will increase their love for cooking!  We take pride in knowing that our classes are fun, safe, educational, creative, and inclusive!  Each class, we will be making at least 2 menu items.

Students may be bringing home food, so students not going home immediately after class may want to bring a small tote-size cooler to the class.

All products are always 100% peanut and tree nut free and we are very allergy friendly!

Soccer Shots

Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. Our caring team positively impacts children’s lives on and off the field through best-in class coaching, curriculum and communication. Our coaches are the best-trained in the business. Our expert-approved curriculum is age-appropriate and aligns with childhood education standards. In addition we provide an exceptional customer experience and ongoing communication with parents.

Active Play Yoga

Children will enjoy stretching, mindfulness and yoga in an easy, fun setting.  All mats and other equipment is provided.  No need to wear speciall clothes.  The instructor has been a Hillsborough County teacher, teaching yoga at many schools, since 1998 and has trained SDHC teachers on how to integrate yoga in their school day.  

Students will be engaged, as they interweave yoga poses, stories, songs, and games. Students are encouraged to explore their inner and outer world through a multi-sensory environment, using kinesthetic, visual, and aural learning. There will be a balance of movement and stillness. Students of all ages will benefit from this practice by gaining body awareness and learning techniques for stress-management, focusing attention, listening and self expression!

Beginners' Tennis

A beginners' tennis course for players new to the game.  Students will learn the rules of tennis, scoring, serves and court position.  This club is designed to instill a love of the game of tennis in young children.  The instructors are experienced at teaching tennis in schools and in club settings.

CodeFu: Coding for Kids (K-2nd)

CodeFu’s: Coding for Kids (K-2nd) Dojo teaches students the computational logic of Computer Science/coding through fun and creative curriculum that incorporate designing games to building websites to using code to fix real world solutions with robots. Our classes are unique in that they focus on themes from Bullying to Self Esteem and provides introductions into a number of block based coding languages!

CodeFu: Coding for Kids (Upper Dojo: 3-5th) Students will create a variety of projects from apps/games to personal websites to coding robots to help save real world problems like pollution or overpopulation - beginning with block based languages & continuing to programming languages such as: HTML, Css, .JS, Ruby, & Python. Important Social & Emotional Development themes are incorporated to empower our students to be themselves while changing the world!

Flag Football Club

Our NFL flag football program is the premier youth football league for boys and girls. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. This league is excellent for first time players to develop their athletic skills as well as advanced players to put their skills to the test. 

Launched in 1996, the FLAG Football program is designed to educate young people about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. Players learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field.

Photography Club

In this course, students get to express themselves through photography. Students not only learn the basics about using a camera, but also will learn about famous photographers, such as Ansel Adams, Ann Geddes, and William Wegman. They will learn about compostition, the rule of thirds and other important factors in taking a good photograph. The students will write simple statements about their photographs each week and put them in a portfolio they will take home at the end of the course.  There will be a student show at Kahwa Coffee. Lego Builders Club

Bricks 4 Kidz is back and this Fall semester will be our most creative yet! We have BRAND NEW themes and builds this semester! Students will learn all about science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math through LEGO® bricks and our signature model builds. Learn about engineering and technology by building our LEGO® robots, artistic symmetry by creating our LEGO® mosaic portraits, and art sculpture and architecture by building one of our LEGO® 3D models. Fun themes such as LEGO®  Roblox, LEGO® City Adventure, The LEGO® Movie 2, LEGO® Fortnite, and other elements from pop culture will be used to teach our students a whole new way to explore and create with LEGO® bricks!

Chess Club

Board One Chess Academy offers school clubs customized to the needs of elementary. Clubs meet weekly for one hour beginning with 15 to 20 minutes of teaching, covering strategy and checkmate patterns relevant to young chess players. The remaining club time consists of supervised, organized play, giving coaches the opportunity to observe and teach students how to apply their newly learned skills. For more advanced players, Board One coaches cover more difficult strategies to equip students for the tournament level.

Drama Club

A comprehensive drama program where students develop a character, learn projection, speaking, poise and confidence.  The articulate child finds it easier to make friends, accept new challenges and explore new directions. The Drama Kids Hillsborough Upper Primary program to help each child achieve these invaluable life skills.
