Tiger Talk Update 2.20.19

Thank you very much to everyone who contributed to Jump Rope for Heart and all of our amazing volunteers! 

This week, we have Conference Night on Thursday, February 21st. The media center will be showcasing Grady’s SLAM (Student Literacy & Media Showcase) submissions during conference night. If you are on campus, please join us in celebrating our students’ hard work anytime between 1:50 pm and 7:00 pm. Click on SLAM for more details.

Grady Auction

Join us for our totally rad 80's themed auction on Saturday, March 9th. This adult only event will be held at Christ the King from 6:00 - 10:00 pm. 

Early Bird Tickets are now available for $35 per person through Sunday, March 3rd. The ticket includes admission, dinner and 2 drink tickets. To purchase your tickets, click on Grady Auction Tickets

We will have raffle tickets for sale during drop off the week of March 5th – 8th. We will be sending out emails with pictures of the raffle baskets and some of our auction baskets in the coming weeks.

We have some amazing auction items, including: 

  • One week stay at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek in Orlando from June 7 - June 14, 2019 (click on Wyndham Bonnet Creek for more details)

  • Football clinic with NFL Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick

  • VIP school parking - skip the car line and park in the back of Grady

Author visit for 3rd-5th graders

Grady Elementary is excited to announce the visit of nationally acclaimed author Jackson Pearce on March 6th. She will be presenting to all students in third through fifth grades. Two of her middle grade books have received nominations in the Sunshine State Young Reader Awards program and have been used in our SLAM & Battle of the Books.

Spring Book Fair

The Grady Elementary Spring Book Fair is coming up from March 11-18th (with a preview day on March 8th).  The Book Fair is a great way to get kids excited about reading and to buy some great reads for Spring Break!

We will provide the link to our online ordering before the Book Fair commences. Thank you for supporting our school Book Fair and developing a love of reading in your child!

Florida State Fair

Grady students will have artwork on display during the Florida State Fair for the Black History Art Exhibit. Our theme was "Celebrating African American Pioneers in the Arts and S.T.E.M." Grady focused on Benjamin Banneker this year. The art will be on display inside the Florida Center during the time that the fair is running. Please come out to enjoy the art show and other festivities. 

Yearbook

Purchase your yearbook today! Prices are currently $20 for a softcover yearbook and $25 for a hardcover yearbook, however, pricing will increase April 1st. Please visit www.strawbridge.net to purchase online and enter online code 112045.   

We need pictures for our yearbook. If you have pictures from Jump Rope for Heart that you would like to submit, please email them to [email protected]

Got used markers? ColorCycle them at Grady

What is Crayola ColorCycle? Crayola’s latest sustainability initiative designed to repurpose markers, highlighters and dry erase markers. All marker brands are accepted. 

How do I help? Collect markers and drop them off in the front office or your student can give them to our art teacher, Debonique Grigsby.
